Our 2026 Climate Impacts Map documents the ongoing devastation from climate impacts that communities across Canada face. It will be regularly updated throughout the year. The 2025 map can be found here.
In 2025, we documented a staggering 1 in 4 Canadians living in more than 220 communities were impacted by climate disasters: wildfires, flooding, drought, toxic air quality and extreme heat. That does not even include the millions more Canadians struggling with heating and cooling bills, at risk from erosion, or facing reduced municipal services as communities struggle to pay for climate-related damages and infrastructure costs.
We expect these numbers to worsen in 2026; already 1 in 5 Canadians have been impacted to date across 53 cities and towns.
Enough is enough…

Note: The population count denotes that of the community, municipality or region where the alert occurred. It does not necessarily denote the number of people directly affected by the alert.
